I made this accessable from the main page as well, it's the big blue bubble down at the bottom left. The news is the redish bubble slightly up and to the left of the big blue bubble. I'm planning on making it more visible then that... but thats why its still at v0.83 =]
People are happy, there's still no snow, I am wanting snow badly... not the driving part - but its nice to have everything covered in white, especially when its this cold out. I hate to have the cold if its not putting itself to good use. (good use would be: snow)

post://8214692/Well Christmas came and went... a large build-up but not too much happening, otherwise. I went up to VT early to visit family, found that everyone is secretly conspiring against everyone else -- a large reason to keep family time to a minimum, or at least my mom's side of the family which is just generally crazy... but its better then not knowing them at all, as is the case with my Dad's side. I don't understand it, but aparently everyone else has quite similar problems.
You get to choose friends, I suppose thats why they're better... but it was simply communication issue as far as being able to get my point accross. That happens a lot anyhow, but was totally out of whack while around family. I'm sure they don't know what kind of person I am, but of course they assume I'm exactly like every other member of the family... I give up and let them take whatever I said how they intended because it tires me to argue it into their heads so they'll know what I meant. It's complete missunderstanding with no possibility of further explanation, because once it goes around in a circle once or twice... everyone gives up and goes on.
I just hope to be able to get my point accross eventually. I'm a different breed, raised in a different area, people, culture... .:sigh:.
Normal day-to-day life shall resume as of January 2nd... hopefully most people will be talking about their New Year's on the 1st... and the christmas clothes will be in the wash, gadgets will have established their new lives, and the bows removed from the gift-Lexus-es-es.
Optimistic projections on the economy, not so optimistic retail sales numbers, job cuts, it's such a mixed bag, people are still living how they were for the most part, at least for the people I know. There's a few that are out of work - and who don't necessarily want to work. I really don't blame them... but the sooner you're in a steady job, the sooner you can try and get paid more. =]
There were a few difficulties this year, but I got through them - and am better off for it. I've learned valuable lessons that I won't get into here... few regrets, but if I didn't have the regrets, I wouldn't have learned the lessons the same. It's kind of like when something happens to someone else - you can learn the lesson from what they went through, but never quite like if you have to go through it yourself.
One thing I've still yet to figure out... and I'm thinking maybe that'll get easier with age. Not experience, just the magic age that opens all the doors from that point on. =) It's hard to devote the time to the things that I feel I need to get done. There's not much motivation as there's no one really there to see it other then myself. I can imagine it being done and simply be satisfied in the fact that I thought of it, while living with it how it is currently. I'm able to devote the time that I'd be spending to get it to how I imagine it being, and using that for things that really don't accomplish anything, but reward now. It's a question of how long I can continue, thinking all I need is time, before actually picking up my pieces and completing the long-term goals.
I'm aware of it, and hopefully that counts for something -- though not nearly as much as actually accomplishing the goals at hand.

post://8051498/Ahh, finally able to get a minute to myself. Enough so that I am updating, at least. I've been on a big downloading tiff - KaZaa will be shutting down shortly (most likley, as they're in a lawsuit) but in the meanwhile I've got a list queued up all the time. Check out "Adult Swim - Brak" he's got his own show now...
Things have been rather tense in the old "update journal world" some people might know what I'm talking about. I tend not to get too personal, I'm more business oriented - "hey look at this..." sort of stuff, rather then discuss who I went to go play pool with, or who ended up hooking up with who... it's better to have general ideas because specifics can't be taken back. The rock had different plans, and I'm still ignius. =)
I wish everyone the best in their endevours, I don't pretend to have any idea what's going on, officially: I know nothing. =]
My dad had his birthday yesterday, so I went over, hooked up his new "surround sound" system and played with the puppy. (I got pictures!) Panasonic makes this 5 disk (jukebox style... put them in one at a time) DVD/receiver thingy that they sell at walmart, Dolby 5.1, S-Video... unfortunately there's no inputs worth a damn. No optical in/out, only S-Video out, and the speakers hook right in the back of the receiver/DVD player. The TV only has 1 S-Video port, and he's got Dish Network, so that's S-Video too. They watch more TV then movies, so receiver to VCR via Composite, and VCR to TV via coax (ung) was the only way to hook everything up at the same time, and he's still got to switch between channel 3 (VCR/DVD) & Video (Dish Network). ...this is why people need to buy more expensive electronics. They don't realize most of these things are meant as one or the other, they're not set up to have everything working in harmony.
That's just one more advocation towards moving to home entertainment systems composed of computer components.

post://7959443/Well playing the whole "stay home and get well" ticket. Hopefully I can stop being sick and get on with things. I did go look at a nice apartment this morning, however. Much better then the place I'm in, but the place I'm in is comfortable, close, and I don't have to move all my stuff to stay here =] I gave them my application, so we'll see how that goes. I fear change, but its such a nice place.
I'm so jittery, feel like I have to get up and move... but must stay indoors where its nice and warm and cozy :] I'm trying to find a way to meet more people around here, the only avenue I have right now is work, and thats all fine and dandy, but not for any kind of 'relationship' and otherwise its just me and a group of guys going out to pool or whatnot.
Basement Jaxx - where's your head at? ...not sure, I think it went flying off on the cold medicine train... I've got a long night ahead of me. =]

post://7809856/The party saturday was perfect - snow had just started falling... and other then having to wait outside in it for about an hour - it was great =) Met up with a bunch of friends there, people from past parties... had fun. Saw DJ Micro, roamed about for the rest. It was a good night, glad I went.
Have my living room system going now. Moved my P4 1.5ghz GeForce3 to the living room, hooked it up to the TV... alongside my PIII 866mhz Voodoo5 for livingroom deathmatches and the like... sweet stuff =]

post://7739934/Well this week's been hell, been working my ass off for some pidly little numbers. Supposedly these numbers show that we're doing a good job or not... or at least the numbers are all that seems to matter. The time that we're supposed to do something is even labed as "over budget" so you can't do a better job then what's allowed because it would cost them too much money.
I can only hope this improves in the future, if not... I might have more time to work on this site then I'd like.
Click the little "news" link to the right -- I added a blog for the news stories I come accross. I'm working on the template, that was just one of the ones included with the blog. There's the first couple paragraphs with links to the full story on the respective site.
Thank goodness there's a party on Saturday, I need it. =)

What if you'd really want that rock even though you knew it would screw up how the colony looked to everyone... or at least how the rocks interacted with eachother. post://7422224/Well I spent Thanksgiving working... and the day after - but I'm not bitter! (no, actually didn't have anything going on - so it's just as well that I had to work, at least got some nice overtime) Had a good post-Thanksgiving weekend, however. Went to a party at a frat-house in Troy, NY... did some shopping in Lee at the outlet center. If you're looking for name brands - this is the best place, period. Stuff I had bought prevoiusly for about $65 was $15 at these stores - could just be the xmas rush, too... but it was still some good clothes. It's like exit 2 off the pike.

post://7330128/Always back up your palm. If you don't, you lose right-hand information. Or at least in my case: about 3 months worth of various quotes, sites, and other (quite important) information. Of course, I hadn't backed it up since -- well, ever. Dumb me, oh well -- chalk it up to Palm Pilot - 1, Me - 3. (cause it looked better then 0) I am kind of amazed how well I can remember the things that were in it. Just looking at something will usually be all I need to remember it. So take this lesson to heart if you get nothing else out of anything on this site.
More XBox -- different place, ooonce ooonce ooonce ooonce .:XBox Dance:. (tm) - Gonna go see my friend who I haven't seen in forever, what a cooinkydink. Yay. ...and then he went back to work.

post://7306583/I wonder if I'm the only person who has to work tomarrow... and friday. I don't really mind because its not like I was up to anything, anyhow. I just wish there were people around to do stuff with. Everyone needs superfast cars, or live out here, not out there, there is too far, here -- near. yes.
I played with both Gamecube and XBox last night. Initial impressions of each were positive, they both have odd buttons, but we need more of that. XBox was like holding a suede glove, and the Gamecube controller was crazy button-ness. Rebel Assault II was extraordinary -- follows Episode 4 (Original Star Wars) exactly. I was flying down the deathstar trench, then tieing up the walkers on Hoth =] on the XBox side it was DOA3, Halo, and Gotham Racing. Gaming is smart thanks to good processors... it was a challenge to fool the enemies in Halo, and DOA3 was its beautiful smooth self ("and they kick high" lol). I don't think I'd buy a Gamecube, but I can appreciate it... and its cheaper as well. Hands down the XBox took my breath away -- and the fact that it was on a 52" HD TV 16:9 w/ composite input didn't hurt either.

post://7275271/E! Online has an interesting section titled Fashion Police - celebs at various events in their best (and worst) dress. I don't follow celebs or anything... but its interesting to see that people actually leave the house dressed like this -- for everyone to see, no less =] ...that, and you see all the cool new stuff the designers are doing.
All of a sudden there's 3 main game systems again, with XBox taking the place of Sega and blowing them all out of the water. Certainly the best of the bunch, but PS2 certainly kept me occupied for the past year or so. Probably won't buy XBox for a while, and screw gamecube... though my GForce3 P4 will certainly do me fine once its all back together again.
Got a friend I haven't seen in a while, think I did an oops in inviting his girlfriend to a party. It was just a bunch of friends... didn't think much of it -- apparently he did. He's now busy with 2 jobs and driving all around to see her and get to his job... I know for a fact he doesn't have any spare time whatsoever, but he's insistant on hanging out with his girlfriend or friends, not both and thus far its been only with her. I'm kinda left looking for something to do... and I keep busy for the most part - I just miss hanging out with him. Life goes on and people do what they need to...
I also have this issue with someone I called not knowing, I guess I was supposed to call the number on the back - heh, go fig =] I hate to say "no, sorry" based on appearance alone, but I've learned to go with my first instinct. I believe in love at first site, also believe in growing to love someone, and the all-important "oops... how didn't I see that before?" -- I'm good at that one.
Now its time to go back to work, fun's over... time to get some PTS for PPA done ASAP.

Leonids streak accross the sky on Saturday huddled around a roaring fire, then found a tomb on Sunday... not bad for a weekend. ;)
Car was in the shop for about a week, good to have it back, much more power now, shifts at the redline (yeah I know, automatic), and turns out I have forced air with a specialized exhaust which gives me the whopping 16hp difference between my 97 GTS Probe and the GT. Now to get my winter tires... and I'll be golden.

post://7182354/Well last night turned out for the better - went out to play pool till late, grabbed a bite to eat at the local diner... and hung out with some pretty cool people, some which I just met, and I'm glad I did.
I was watching CNN today, there was a press conference regarding Afghan matters, and pictures of special ops in Afghanistan. I was somewhat angry because the so-called pictures of special ops were fake. There are about 6 of them, some are quite small and scattered about the CNN site in reference to the war, etc. I have seen doctored images before, hell -- I've even made them. The images look as though they had a model serviceman all costumed up and photographed (at a much higher resolution), green screened (or via simple color isolation and deletion with lets say... Photoshop), and put over the Afghan location/people pictures. The images behind the soliders are grainy, but the soldier is clear as day, the outline(s) of the solider are also somewhat off (like you see with the older greenscreen technology). It's ridculous -- they wouldn't show the actual SpecialOps soldiers, unless the government is foolish enough to give any kind of advantage to anyone who might be watching our news broadcast(s). The only pictures I've been able to find are small... but I'm going to keep looking... Anyone who knows anything about images/photography can easily see the images are manipulated. [discuss]

Me and a few friends hiked up a mountain in the dark, built a fire, and took in the sights. It was one of the best nights I've had in a while. The view was beautiful, the fire was huge... I only wish I could have somehow gotten a picture - but camera's don't work well in utter darkness. I could have gotten a picture of the fire I suppose, but didn't have my camera with me, anyhow. =]

It's kind of like you're paying them to keep your life interesting and get your money's worth out of your personal contact devices ;) I like the way its 5 episodes, not pay per episode as a lot of companies are doing... there's a pretty big following too -- fan pages abound, but I'm not sure if they contain spoilers... or support the rest of the story.

It was good to see him again... he's been in there for about a year, and still didn't have any regrets, good man. Kept myself occupied otherwise, so no real updates. I at least want to get things to a workable level... invited out for a nice home cooked dinner tonight, so that'll be nice =]
I had a sort of uber-epiphany this weekend. Realizing a bit about how I approach relationships. Don't know how to fix it... but at least I'm aware of it, and maybe that'll help? =] s'alright, I'll be looking back on this time in my life later, saying - "Those were the good days..." uh huh, yeah. ;] hehe, such is life.
There's a party next week @ Assylum, $25 if you get tickets ahead @ the Growroom in Amherst.

post://6707686/I was watching the news today -- and, as watching the news brings about these kinds of thoughts -- we're starting to create our own future with our fiction. Or possibly we just know ourselves so well that we can come up with scenarios that are in fact possible, but because there's just so many... you can't guard against everything. Oh yeah, the thought: 12 Monkeys (plural: monkies? munkies? munks? munkmunk munkchimp chimpmonk)
There's a scene where he goes into NYC in the future... effectively present time. He's in a large department store - Macy's possibly? There's no one anywhere -- they've been wiped out by a virus and as the movie goes on you hear a bit more about the history end of things. Anyhow... its possible. "It'll never happen" -- what I thought before the mysterious "Anthrax" kept popping up. If that's out there -- what else could there be?
I don't want to sit in a figurative corner - or prognosticate about what potentially could happen... its just odd. Things have changed, my plans for life continue -- my goals remain in place. I just wonder if its all for naught - but I've thought that before. The sheer reward of living every day to its fullest (or at least to the next) and the experiences along the way -- make it all worthwhile =]

I got to play with a ferret as well - great fun, they have cute little defined cat-like noses - he crawled right up my sleeve and down my back... =] Now if that isn't just a conglomeration of random thoughts I don't know what is. "I like sailboats. Sometimes I ride in sailboats. I like sailboats." Not to diss sailboats - no wait... it was "clipper ship" and it made you feel good that the little boy did his report. I don't know, I forget which movie thats from... but thats why this is great -- throwing things down as they enter my head.
As I am thinking about it... I hope this is an acurate representation of my persona. There's a good guy in here, he's just got an odd train of thought. =]

I'll be putting some more news up and getting an actual feel for how I want the page to look, it'll be more then just text -- but working to get down what I have in my "list of stuff". Got the album files all uploaded - they're .nra or "CD files" from Nero v5+ - links should be up by later today from music/albums. Once all the .mp3 files are in the same directory as the .nra file you should be able to burn the CD right from there. All the CDText is already in there - [tracknames, album, artist, etc] as well - so if you have a car/home/portable that reads CDText - you should be able to see it. Also note they're pretty much all 80 minute mixes.
Working on DivX stuff - more to come on that, good news if your DVD player can do VCDs.
Games page in the works... in addition to everything else I have partially completed ;) heh

Props to Katie, Tiffany... and I have to confer with a few to get the rest for sure =] So everyone, thanks for the wonderful time. I will most likely dissapear for a couple of days - just doubled my ram to half a gig & got a mean GeForce3 w/ 3d glasses and put my -real- sound card in. I'll put up some screen shots or whatnot.
I'm thinking of a "gaming secton" because there's a lot of good games that people either haven't given the chance, or just plain don't know about.

I spent probably 3-4 hours last evening remaking the entire music page from scratch because I upgraded from GoLive 4.0 to 5.0 - and then went back to 4.0 when my code was getting corrupted somehow. It turns out I had forgotten to put: javascript: void in the href... heh - go fig. I'll give it another shot when I regain my strength.
Working on getting the text/styles standardized throughout the site. The board has been down due to a mishap with the hosting -- but its being worked on, should be back within a couple of days, I made sure to back it up... so shouldn't be a problem to restore. post://6388510/I went to the Assylum on Saturday night for "Heaven". I had a blast, met a bunch of really cool people... some of which might even end up reading this. It was such a huge contrast to the Hippodrome. I felt completely at ease, in my element - it wasn't back to back people, and there was a huge music choice - 4 rooms going at once. The DJs were talented, they mixed and scratched, and the crowd went crazy. The Hippodrome strived to be 'as much like radio' as they could be. Where the Hippodrome played "Smells Like Teen Spirit" remixed by Fat Boy Slim -- the Assylum had Lithium & a phat beat, you could really dance to it.
I enjoyed my evening at the Assylum much more. I met people from all over, spread the news of the site and danced the night away. My quest: bring people from all walks of life together in one place, to share ideas, spread news... and maybe even learn a little from eachother. So there's my purpose statement... my goal - help me out. Spread the word... there's a calendar of events on the discussion board - and once you join you're free to post whatever =]

post://6283356/...and I realize these things on a Wednesday? Anyhow... Thursday night is College Night @ The Hippodrome so off I went with a few friends. I hadn't been before... wasn't sure of the setup, the crowd. I was surprised. It was absolutely gorgeous... like the great cinemas from the days of silent pictures. Though its colorscheme kinda had a modern taste to it. There were large men with earphones left and right. Straight laced and buff as they could be -- this was what they did. After going through a large domed entranceway the hall opened up to the top of the theater with bars tiered down the middle. All the way at the bottom was the dance floor, with the screen displaying the dancers, filtered and overlayed... back to the entire floor.. I started down the stairs, stopping at the top bar to order myself a 'RedBull.
Down at the floor it was crowded, I thought. Top 40s, some good techno mixed in for when you really want to go crazy... a lot of rap/hiphop... which can be hard to dance to... but it was all-right. My only qualm with the stream of music... was the interuption by the "much hyped" Hot Body Contest. A nice break if you're not wanting to dance, but it dragged on for those that did. I witnessed many a person that was struttin their stuff. I was just amazed at how well it worked. Most women just danced with eachother... and I could see why -- The typical (from my own generalizations and assumptions {and knowing the limitations of such, I proceed} ) "club male" shall simply wurm their way through the crowd and start gyrating against the desired "booty". If the young woman "accepts the gyrating it will result in a much longer gyrating between the two parties and the gyrating could abruptly end... or carry through the evening. If the young woman does not accept the gyration, she will only allow gyration for a short period of time... usually at least 30 secconds. If she does not accept the gyration, the "club male" shall then proceed through the crowd in search of another. -- because if they exposed themselves they would simply invite gyration... they would rather ease into the gyration... wanting to see how the other gyrated alone before proceeding to share in the gyration. So it went for much the night. Did I enjoy my night at the Hippodrome? I enjoyed myself, made some interesting inferences... and have yet more things to ponder. =]

post://6256348/wow, week dun and dood it again. Created the people, music pages... made a discussion board - however it is full of banners and popups. I'm working on getting some CGI space so I can have my own, add-free, board. For now... try the moving windows

If I can get the script actually working - should be a discussion board coming :] Fixing the little nitpicky's - working on creating the music page and revamping the movies page(s).

post://6026385/Wow, its that time again. Monday morning - bright and early... and who woulda thought I'd need to be up earlier then normal tomarrow. I sure didn't. That is why its when it is and I'm doing this instead of sleeping already. I had a fairly short weekend, yet very long... feel like I got a lot done, and nothing at the same time. The fall makes all roads longer...
