I was watching the news today -- and, as watching the news brings about these kinds of thoughts -- we're starting to create our own future with our fiction. Or possibly we just know ourselves so well that we can come up with scenarios that are in fact possible, but because there's just so many... you can't guard against everything. Oh yeah, the thought: 12 Monkeys (plural: monkies? munkies? munks? munkmunk munkchimp chimpmonk)
There's a scene where he goes into NYC in the future... effectively present time. He's in a large department store - Macy's possibly? There's no one anywhere -- they've been wiped out by a virus and as the movie goes on you hear a bit more about the
history end of things. Anyhow... its possible. "It'll never happen" -- what I thought before the mysterious "Anthrax" kept popping up. If that's out there -- what else could there be?
I don't want to sit in a figurative corner - or prognosticate about what potentially
could happen... its just odd. Things have changed, my plans for life continue -- my goals remain in place. I just wonder if its all for naught - but I've thought that before. The sheer reward of living every day to its fullest (or at least to the next) and the experiences along the way -- make it all worthwhile =]
