Randy Boyer just came out with a new track:
Randy Boyer & Kristina Sky (ft Cari Golden) - No Limit- check it out if you're a fan of trance / dance. I've also seen a couple remixes of his around like this one
for darude.
I originally heard about Randy Boyer from a friend at work, another fellow aspiring DJ he was impressed with Randy's style of trance. He introduced me and I caught a show this winter at room 960 in the middle of a blizzard (which s the start to any great story in New England).
It was a great show, he's got an awesome style. You can listen to some of his other tracks over on his site:
RandyBoyer.com and if you sign up for the newsletter you'll get a password for the secret area with all sorts of exclusive mixes and songs in MP3.

I beat Fallout 3 today - tried it ever which way to survive. Unfortunately the ending comes out almost the same, with a few changes here and there. I did it right the first time and then reloaded and went back to it. I reached level 20 and Max XP well before I got involved in the last battles of the game. All told it was great, story got even better and though it was slightly more linear towards the end I still really enjoyed it.
I just heard the latest on the DLC which is coming out for both the 360 and PC. 3 installments, they'll be coming out one a month for January - March 2009. The first installment "Battle of Anchorage" lets you play the first battle of the war via simulation, much like "Tranquility Lane". The second installment "The Pitt" is a morality quest into a slave town in Pittsburg. The third and final DLC is the big one, it lets you use all you've gained in the main plot and resumes from where you left off (and lets you advance past level 20).
The first 2 DLCs don't seem like they'd do much good to me from a character expansion point until the third one is out. I may just wait for the multipack to come out in March as I'm sure they'll package them in a disc version once they're all released.

Here are a few mixes I've done as of late:
Anavan - The Perfect Sound (WijiX SoundOff Mix) [
listen]
The Veronicas - Untouched (WijiX Touché Mix) [
listen]
Lady Gaga - Just Dance (WijiX MiX) [
listen]
I also have a pretty
awful session [
listen] where I started playing with my new XSessionPro. It's the first time I've been able to mix between two MP3s... now if I only had a second audio card on the laptop so I could listen to the cue.

I'm asking for a USB mixer for XMass so I can mix my MP3s together.
I'm a bit concerned how it does the BPM matching. I'd really like to have a dial to adjust it for either so I can do it manually - but just as I feared this I ran into the following (Free) software:
Zulu DJ Mixer by NCH SoftwarePlease donate while you're at it since it's currently free and really great.
There are many options, drag and drop files to load them, then drag them to either A track or B track - you get a visual representation of the track so you can see the dips and stops. You also get volume, pitch, synch (sets BPM), and Cue if you have another audio card or USB headphones. It detects the BPM for each track as you load them, and you can adjust them each independently. You also get filters like distortion, high pass, reverb, phaser, flanger, and delay - all available and adjustable in realtime. It's surprisingly powerful for a free program and most likely better then the software included with the m-audio usb mixer.
Rapid Evolution 2Runs on Java and Java runs like crap.
It can figure out BPM and key and all that, so it looks like it would be really cool but didn't work right for me on VISTA.
If you have XP - you may want to give it a try. It should work on Linux too - there's different distributions since it runs on Java. After fiddling with it in VISTA I finally got it to access the audio hardware by running a command prompt as administrator and then executing it from a command line (.jar files can't be executed as admin by right clicking). Even when the audio did work, it would play for a few seconds and then stop. The file still appeared to be playing but I couldn't hear anything other then the first 5 seconds.

I found
a virtual lab for Visual Studio 9. This particular one is for building web applications, but if you're interested in teaching yourself you can get your start with the virtual labs and then even
download Microsoft Visual Studio Express for free!

I just spent this afternoon getting my old PC up and running with XP after 1 of my drives in the Raid 0 array went kablooi. I want a PVR PC, and it's been a long time coming. I had tried VISTA, then XP MCE after VISTA could only access the Digital tuner side of the card. As it turns out MCE uses the same set of drivers, so MCE could only recognize the digital side of the card as well.
So it was back to XP!
I got all the updated drivers from ATI, I've got the official CD for the DVD decoder... all set... and I received a ubiquitous error message:
"setup was unable to find components that can be installed on your current hardware or software configuration"
- turns out that means I don't have an ATI Display card (I'm running a NVIDIA 7800 PCIex) and according to the website, this is the last version of the media player (tv player) that they're making and there won't be any updates - do not pass go, do not collect $200.
I knew there were a few free options for me at this point - no legit version of ATI that worked, so thought these might be helpful to others who may have an ATI HDTV Tuner card with a non-ATI video card:
GBPVR - The first one I heard of back in the day, looks just like XP Media Center Edition.
Media Portal - Another slick interface with available iTunes-like skins
Freevo - Sourceforge based - yet another option, doesn't look quite as snazzy.
