So there's some major stuff going down today.
Microsoft is talking to SCO in order to license UNIX.
SCO is in turn sending notices to certain distributors of Linux saying that they are distributing an "unauthorized derivative" of their operating system.

Mac OSX already has a license for the UNIX basis for their operating system from BSD... so they're unaffected, but all the other flavors of Linux are possibly threatened if they can indeed prove that Linux uses the UNIX engine/technology.

Mac's online music service might be causing a stir, but this new Spanish site: Puretunes.com is doing more then that.
The claim they're licensed, citing a loophole in Spanish copyright law that lets them distribute the media in whatever way they see fit -- though giving royalties to the artists. It's $3.99 for all you can download in 8 hours. The trick (given the speed of the website) may just be that you won't be able to get much in that time from such a slow server, but I've yet to give it a shot. My advice would be to get as much as you can quickly -- as a court order seems inevitable.
