Last night I headed out to Framingham State to visit my friend, play some poker, and get up early for a speeding ticket at the local court there. It was fun, my first real time playing poker (with money). I was getting down when I got a good hand or two, and took a gigantic pot after 3 hands of "Follow the Bitch"
2 cards down, 5 up - Queens and any card following a queen showing up are wild, and "If the Queen don't show, the pot don't go"
It went 4 hands before we finally got a queen, and I ended up with all the wilds and 4 nines over someone else's 4 fours.
It was $30 to get in, I had borrowed $10 - so by the end I was up quite a bit... and without that much of an initial investment.
I think I'm going to play poker more often ;)

I slept there in the dorm, snuggled up on a papa-san. Woke up, showered, and felt the true college life. I went to court this morning about 10am, I sat and waited for about 40 minutes to be heard. I recounted, and they agreed I wasn't going 89 in a 65, I was going 75... yay. My whole point was that even though it was laser, and he says I was in the far lane... if another car is inbetween the cop and me, he's registering the other car. I wasn't going slow by any means, and certainly not even the speed limit... so that was good enough for me. It's points, but I'm a 15 right now, so it's not the end of the world.

When I was on the way home, I stopped for something to eat. I'm sitting there, country music is playing... a remake of whitney houston's bodyguard song a song originally done by Dolly Pardon and remade by Whitney Houston for 'Bodyguard', some other country re-makes and typical country songs. I wondered if the owner was a country fan, or if it was the chain that determines the music. At any rate --- two women came in with about 4-6 kids probably no older then 2 or 3. They all ran to the jukebox --
"Look a game!" they started climbing up the front of it -
"The buttons aren't working!... Mom! Mom... mom... the buttons aren't working".
"That's because we don't have any money to put in it."
"We don't have any money?!!" and then it was like a lightbulb went on above his head, he turned to the boy next to him "We can't play... becase we don't have money!" ...a logical conclusion, also a pre-cursor to a life realization that you can't do what you want (play) without money. Without knowing it, his mother gave him very good reasoning why we should all want money.

I also heard a good quote at the courthouse - "Now I don't race, I just like to show them how well I can keep up."

...and this one from when we were playing poker. One of the guys went outside to smoke a cigarette and recounted his discussion with some guy outside:

And he's trying to talk to me after talking shit last time he was here all drunk and shit. So I say:
"Are you talking to me... bitch?"
"I'm a bitch?"
"Yeah - when I wake up in the morning and I ask myself: Who's my bitch? I think you. The only reason you're all up in my face is because you've got 3 boys behind you -- I've got 9 guys up there that'll readily come down here and beat your ass... but if you want to go up on that hill right there -- I will KNOCK you down."
...and one of his boys kinda chuckles.
"Yeah bitch?"
"Biiiiiiiiiiiitch."
"bitch?"
"B I T C H."
"bitch?"
"Now I'm going to turn around, so you can look at my back - OK bitch?"
...then as I'm goin in his boy leans to me and whispers "You're bitch is my bitch."

So there's my adventure for the day - I get out on time today, as I got in here on time (with the help of 2 hours personal time). I'm tired, but I didn't get another ticket going out there, got the one I had reduced, had a great time while I was out there, and got some extra loot in the process. =] So I'm doin OK.
